Coming out in 90’s NYC was a launch into freedom that much of the rest of the world won’t ever know. I love the grit and more edgy imagery and wild free expression of the time and Dirty Rat Media is my own outlet to keep that torch alive! That grit is an important part of gay culture & history.

Over the years I have created so many illustrations as an art director in those tight time or budget pinches when a visual is needed. Charts, instructions or diagrams and other photo/object collages that work as diagrams or symbols as well. All of it was a pleasure to create using what I had on hand to solve the visual story to be told.
Crosshatching
The texture and building process of crosshatching illustration has been something I have loved for a long time. Something about the raw simple base printing process and the way it translates into real depth and form even with simple black lines, I have always love this look and love creating it. I have also always loved the raw print quality of these images.
